With being in college and having to buy meat can be expensive, so all my buddies tell me to kill them a deer so they can have the meat. So I got out for the first time yesterday with the mindset to kill the first big doe that came close. I had football meetings at 2:30 and as soon as I got done with meetings I headed out to the woods. After about an hour a good sized doe, and a couple of yearlings wondered within 20 yards. I texted my buddy that has been hounding me for some deer meat, and asked him if I shot a deer was he going to help me clean it. I waited untill the deer was quartering away from me at about 25 yards. I released the arrow and watched with enticipation. She probably only ran 20 yards after I shot her, and watched her fall from my tree stand. It felt good to kill the first deer of the year, now it's time to start hunting her big brother!!!
