When the snow starts to fly on the massive corn fields of Iowa and freezing temps hit Minnesota, hunters all around get ready for the Canada Migration south. This year we were lucky with the amount of birds in the area and almost every hunt we had we got into birds. The week of Christmas I put in miles and miles to find the birds with good success. We made plans to hunt a picked corn field that morning holding about 500 birds when a buddy called saying he found a different field and suggested we hunt that. Plans were made, trailers loaded and gunners arranged we planed to meet at the field that morning.

Snow storms have already dumped a foot of snow on the surrounding area before this hunt and most everything was white. We arrived at the field with hopes high and we couldn't believe to find the field completely black. The geese were feeding in this field so hard that the hillside was dirt. We unloaded the trailer set up blinds and got ready for a massacre. 

The first flock came over the horizon right on time and they didn't think twice about were they wanted to feed. and dumped right in. We killed 3 and I went to retrieve the birds. First bird of the day was banded and I hustled back to the blind as another flock was already locked in. We landed several flocks looking for some more bands but with such a good field we wanted to get out. It took 30 min to shoot are limit and we got out to save the field.
