Last Tuesday I was informed that I had to go back up to college the very next day to take my senior exit exam or I wouldn't be able to graduate in May.  Well I had a blow out 3 days earlier and really messed my truck up bad, so I was forced to take a bus 4 1/2 hours to take a stupid test that doesn't matter anyways.  The bad thing also about taking a bus, is you can't bring a gun with you.  As I finished my test I called a buddy of mine and asked if he wanted to go the next morning and I would call and he would shoot.  He was excited that I was back in town and hopped right on it.  We got out there probably ten minutes late and the birds were shutting down on the roost right when we walked in the woods.  We got to a spot where we had killed two birds in the past and just sat down and tried our luck.  We had two hens walk into the decoys and just make their path up the hill into the field above us.  All of a sudden my buddy says "There the ARE", I tell him to get his gun up and 3 long beards and a hen start coming down the hill and make it to 25 yards.  I wanted to see how close I could get them, so I started purring and clucking and when I did, the lead gobbler gobbled and it almost rang our ears it was so loud so close.  Well the lead gobbler started walking off on a deer trail away from us, and one of the gobblers kept coming and I told my friend whenever he had a chance to kill em.  He rolled the long beard at 20 yards.  2 year old bird, 10 in. beard, 1/2 in spurs.   Sorry for the pic, I took it with my cell phone.

Looks like you guys had a pretty good hunt. I'm going after them at the end of this week.
