How many dekes do you guys use in your diver spreads?

Do you use rig systems?

Depends what species we are targeting. If the smaller ducks are here early in the year like buffies, ringnecks, and ruddies..we will run maybe 2 dozen. All of them split into species specific pods of about 6 birds.

Later in the year when the bluebills and cans are here, we run about 3 dozen combined. These are usually all mixed together in a large raft. Usually we will throw a string of goldeneyes on the outside edge of the spread, too.

We diver hunted once this year and put out 2 dozen bluebills, 1 dozen redheads, 6 goldeneyes and 1 dozen buffies. Ironically enought we ended up shooting no bluebills but a few redheads, goldeneyes and buffies. This was combined with a mallard and goose spread as well.
